A Parents’ Moralizing Spectacles: The Fancy-Free Type
This is one of the ten-piece series of works. The lesson for women is written in the picture, in contrast with the half-figure portrait. This is the only piece to draw the woman in the center. In the rest of his works, the women are drawn to one side or diagonally across the image. A long paragraph to admonish her fluttered mind is written in her line of sight. Her posture, showing off a fan behind her head, expresses her fancy-free mind; the drawing accurately depicts a woman who needs to be taught a lesson.
